I got to meet one of these guys in person at the Morganton bird show this spring and from what I was told they are very similar in personality to the Alexandrine. They are much bigger than an alex - about the size of a small ammie. Gorgeous birds! The beak reminds me of an alex.

I, too, am interested in learning more about them. I know of a breeder whose pair had its first clutch but lost the babies between 1 and 2 weeks of age. I look forward to meeting one and hope that they become more common over the next few years. They remind me a lot of eclectus (who just happen to be my favorite parrots).

Thanks for posting that pict. They are so stunning. They look a lot bigger than what I had expected. I see what your saying about how they remind you of the Alexandrine.
