Default Pigeon & Monkey

It’s a tale straight out of Disney – an abandoned baby monkey, close to death, is revived by the love of a bird.

The 12-week-old macaque was rescued on Neilingding Island, in Goangdong Province, China, after being abandoned by his mother.

Taken to an animal hospital, he was weaned back to physical health but still showed little appetite for life.

It was not until a fellow patient, a white pigeon, took him under her wing and showed him love and affection that he perked up.

Now the two are inseparable, say staff.

Here's my suggestion. Try contacting the Xinhua news agency in China. Their email address is english@xinhuanet.com , and explain what you're trying to do, that the monkey was found on Neilingding Island, in Goangdong Province, and you're trying to find out what animal hospital/sanctuary it was taken to, and how to get in touch with them. I don't find any reference to the story on their site, but they are the official Chinese news agency, and might be able to help.

My only other suggestion would be to contact the UK's Daily Mail newspaper, at helpline@dailymail.co.uk , since it seems that their story is listed as the source for most other articles about this online. They might at least be able to tell you where they got the story from.

Thank you kindly for the story concerning the Pigeon & Monkey and there unique relationship, I found the story very heart warming and sincere.
The Pigeon in the picture is ill, there are signs of the POX virus on the feet, can you help concerning this issue, is there anyway to contact the facility were these 2 wonderful animals are kept?
Please help me as I try to help that wonderful Pigeon as he/she cares for the little Monkey.
Sincerely.

So far no responce from this e-mail, english@xinhuanet.com
I suppose since the USA and China are having differences again this attempt to help the pigeon will go un-answered...
