The article says they are both at an animal hospital so hopefully the feet are being treated.

Cindy, I never thought of that! It could well be that the pigeon is there precisely because of the pox problem. We will probably never know, it has proven difficult to track the story down to its source. It certainly could be the case though.

At the least-and as Arty said, he has done everything he can to make contact with whom ever has this bird in their care.
As a Child, I had a pet monkey and he was very dear to me. My father ran the rescue mission on skid road and on a snowy day, a homeless man brought the monkey into the mission for shelter form the cold. The monkey was just a baby and I don't remember .how he acquired the little guy as I was just a little girl at the time. Some how, my grandmother talked the fellow into giving her the monkey. {I think a bottle of wine was part of the exchange.]
I had an especially strong relationship him. and he viewed me as mom. His name was Smokey and he lived to be, 19 years old.
The point of all this is that I can really imagine how important the pigeon in the picture is to that little baby monkey.
