It sounds like the Pigeon Oliver gets the best of all worlds. He got love & care when young & now because of his own personality he gets to be with others of his own. Not everything works out like we think it will. Best to do what is 'best' for the individual.

An update on Oliver, He is doing fine, when I go out to the loft he comes flying, he acts like he wants to be with me but with limits "don't touch me" just like many of our exotics, they will sit on our shoulders but just don't touch me, you might get my beautiful feathers dirty...
Oliver sure is a big bird, but then all my birds are, they have unlimited seed and fresh water.
There's no sign at all that I had to cut into his crop when he was a youngster, so I must have done a good job...
He sure is a fine bird, my loft is getting full again, soon it will be time to decide what birds will be set free.
