That will work great, do you still plan on keeping the bird in the house?
You will need to add a one foot square box with a 6 inch wide by 10 inch tall opening so your bird can go in for safety, this box should be mounted up high under the roof, or add the box outside onto the back and cut the hole in the back of the existing cage and place a shelve 8 inches wide for a landing area and a place to keep the seed and water bowls.
Check the floor grate, make sure the mesh isn't to large for the birds talons to get caught.
Even while outside for a short period of time there will need to be an area for the bird to go into to feel safe.
Buy it, add the box and shelve and your set.

I plan on keeping him/her as a strictly indoor pet. I know, the cage looks like it belongs outside, I was thinking I could put it inside anyways! According to the seller it has removable trays for a bottom, which you can kinda see on the pic.
So, what I am getting from you is, inside the cage they like a hiding place? I would be happy to install one, my hubby is good with stuff like that!
Otherwise,if you were me would you get it or keep looking for another???

That cage would be alittle tacky for inside the home, I was thinking it would be fine outside.
If you keep your friend in the house, there's no need for a box to feel safe in.
Its your call, I personally wouldn't use it in my home, unless down in the basement maybe....but surely not in the living room...LOL
My PC is down, so I will not be online much until I can efford to get it looked at, I am using my wifes laptop right now....
Sooooo, Talk at ya later, I will try and get online every morning for awhile, but for the most...I won't be online...

Thanks, I can see your point. There is time and many cages out there...Maybe I will grab it for outside anyway, it's a good deal. Thank you Arty for taking the time to respond to my post.

Everyone has a different take on things - i think it would be OK in the house - cleaned up of course . I like the 'classic' look of it. I guess it does have that rustic 'farm' look but then i come from a farm background & like the look.

If you put a platform up high like Arty has in his bird room I think your bird would enjoy it more - maybe a ramp up to it as well.

It looks like a well made one & the price is good. If you get it for outside then the bird has options on really nice days.

I honestly don't think that cage will fit through any door in a house without having to be taken apart.
It would be nice to place that cage near the dog-cat run and add a tunnel type way for the bird to enter the run, place a small door so one could shut to keep the dog and cat from getting to the bird while using the run.
But...just an idea...

Thats a nice cage, sooooo, you thinking about having multiple birds?

Keep in mind the work involved.....keeping them fed and cared for...its definately a major commitment...
And a bird carrier, or cat...small dog carrier for transporting the bird to the outdoor run....
Grab a bag of Kaytee Pigeon & Dove mix, Parakeet grit, or maybe oyster shell grit will work the best...
I don't offer my Pigeons toys, as soon as there weaned they either are adopted or go back out into the loft, soooo no need for toys, so can't help ya in choosing toys...
Lets keep our hopes up high that the eggs hatch and the babies do well, and I have no problems with hand feeding, in about 2 months or so you should have your bird.
Your welcome to adopt this little one also if you wish...this little one should be ready in about 4 weeks....maybe sooner if you want to take over hand feeding, this will also add to the bonding between you both.

I am starting to lean in that direction, that little one is too adorable. I will give it some serious thought! The middle is removable on that cage so it can become one huge cage. Just nice to have 2 if ya need it! The seller is in Wakonia so I am trying to figure how to transport etc...
