How are things going donna?

Hi Arty, I just went out and fed Abi. I have not seen the Hawk......knock on wood! Abi's tailfeather are almost grown out and his left wng is back up in position. Mother nature did its thing! I really do not want to trap him if I do not have to. I keep a close eye out for him. I check that tree and the others for Hawks a few times a day. There might be some around because he is back hanging on the canopy again, unless a family member goes back there, then he gets spooked and takes off and watches for the way to be clear and comes back! He is so cute. I try to pet him and he lunges at my hand to bite! Do they hurt when they bite or is it just like a chicken peck? I will not give up until he lets me pet him......LOL

No, there bite isn't that bad, they really have no defense, a peck, thats about it...I am pleased you are so vigilent, I am more pleased that your are allowing your friend to be free.
Worry you may...and being the kind person you are, worry you always will.
I believe this is the way it was meant to be.

I am pleased to hear Abi is mending well.
Someone tried to catch that bird and ended up with a handful of tail feathers, and Abi ended up hurting her wing hitting something as she fled.
I rescued 2 pure white Doves at one time, one got away from me and as I reached for the bird I ended up with a handful of tail feathers, so I know first hand how Abi lost her tail feathers.
It took me 2 days to lure the dove back into the loft...
Anyways, I am very pleased with the both of you.
