Why don't you adopt instead of buying? There are so many birds out there in need of a good home...

I have tried. I'm on SSI which is low income. They will not accept my application. I have even told them I have saved enough money to buy a baby and the cage. I have a poodle. I get her clipped every three months and she gets all of her shots. I have a vet clean her teeth once a year. I can prove that I take care of my pets. They look at your income first and if it doesn't qualify they won't go any further with the application. Summer

EWPR it is in Washington. There are other rescues in the state but they will only adopt out in their area.

Have you tried searching on Petfinder? They have a classified listing that is often utilized by people seeking to rehome their pets privately. Hoobly and Craigslist can be resources in that regard, too.

Are there any bird clubs in your area? If so, why not check them out? It might be a great social networking situation for you and more often than not, they have some sort of parrot adoption program in place.

You can also search for breeders on birdbreeders.com.

Best of luck!

I check petfinder and craigslist daily. I have not heard of hoobly. I will check that one out. I also check out birdbreeders.com. Many people have told me they see them all the time needing to b rehomed. Maybe becaue I live in Washington? I don't know. I just don't see any. If I ask anyone they say huh? Thanks again. Summer
