I love this site! it has so much helpful information... especially since im pretty new to the parrot world! I just have one question... what do you put in the catch all tray on the bottom and top play area on his cage? Merlin is such a playful/messy bird that everything i put in there he shreds up and throws all over the floor! i'm just looking for something that will work for easier cage cleanings!

Welcome to pc, I have newspaper and yes some days it gets shredded and some days they leave it alone. Give him a box or other paper to confetti and he may leave the cage paper alone. I refer to the throwing of stuff as gravity tests, Peanut likes to watch whatever he tosses crash to the floor.

awesome! i will try that... thank you very much! yeah merlin likes to stand in his food bowl and grab big clumps of food with his claws and throw it on the floor. it's almost like he is squishing his feet in it... kind of funny to watch!
