Just wanted to say "hello". I'm new here to Parrotchatter and also a new bird owner. well actually I have two weeks before I can bring her home. I am so nervous, the whole experience is so new to me. Took a ride with my friend one day to visit one of her new babies and fell totally in love with a Yellow Sided Conure. Never thought I would see myself with a bird, I was always a dog person, but it has happened. LOL Anyway, I hope you can all help me out here, so I know what the heck I am doing because I know very little. Any advise and pointers would be most welcomed and appreciated.

Let me tell you that your life will change, and you will welcome it. Once you've been snuggled by a bird, thats it. It's a whole other world being owned by a bird.

You'll get lots of good advice & tips here, but most importantly, be patient with your baby. All this is just as new to him/her as it is to you.

One bit of advice I will give you off the bat, make sure you have an Avian Vet, and when you get your baby, take it in for a well check, then once a year do follow up well checks.

To me, they are the most visually striking, and some claim them to be somewhat gentler than the usual Green Cheek as well. If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to sing out!
