This sounds pretty normal to me, Bob. One year old is still young for a macaw. The bobbing up and down, my 2 1/2 year old does that still, when he is happy or excited about something. Our 4 year old does exactly that, with our son whom she is in love with...grab his finger and bob her head. She's a little odd though. It seems as if your macaw has taken to you. I wouldn't worry, head bobbing is a very macaw thing to do, but it's always a good thing to check with your vet if you are worried. It never hurts.

I have a 2 year old B&G, Harley. She will occasionally do this when she's getting loved on and once in a while regurgitate. I think this is b/c she's comming into maturity. Is he eating? How much? What are you feeding him? How long ago was he weaned?

Hi ...and welcome to PC!! We too are proudly owned by two B&G's. Our Maple is 8 (almost 9) and is very bonded to me. We also have our baby Harley who is just a year and half and is an absolute joy! Look forward to hearing more about your flock and getting to know you better!
