I am also new at being a parrot caretaker and to pc. This is a great place to air all your questions and concerns you will definitely get good advice.
As to your age, I have seen very responsible and mature 20 year olds and very irisponsibal and immature 50 year olds. As long as you under stand the responsibility and commitment of owning a parrot involves, age doesn’t come in to it. In fact I am jealous that you have found the joy of owning a parrot at your age I wish I had a companion that could have be with me a lifetime.
