Hi Barb - so glad you stopped by. Your flock sounds really interesting.

Could you tell us about how you got each one & how old they are? I am unfamiliar with your great bill and philippine blue nape parrot - so this will very fun for me to read more.

This is by in large a gentle board with the main focus in bird health & happiness. Many of us have become good friends thru this board. Although I have small birds I really enjoy all of them & really enjoy meeting other bird people.

Hi Jac,

Nice to meet you! I love small birds. Have had a few throught the years.

History Hmmmmm

Tofu moluccan male a whim purchase add in paper. Said one day I would get one of those birds while I was at Tropicana. Really forgot about it! A friend comes over and I say I want a bird. Not knowing she would take me to a moluccan LOL. I got him!

2 years later went to birdfarm and here is this female mollucan screaming at my male with tail flaired. She wants him! I got her!
Bad idea! Had no idea what I was doing! Long story.

Got into flight training my female M2 about 2 years ago. I walk into birdfarm and here flies up to gate of aviary a wild BE2. Wild! I took him home and have trained him to come to me and now is my buddy..

In the meantime others on the flight training group that I am on are getting baby birds like crazy. I couldn't stand it any longer and did a search and found the baby bird of my dreams. That is Daphne a ducorps cockatoo.

As for the great bills. Again the birdfarm. I walk in there and here is this bird philippine blue nape parrot posted as very rare only 80 in united states. I went home did my studying finding out this bird is Indonesian. Wings and tail were masacuired. The guy looked horrible! He now is fully feathered and flies!
His name is Phil.

George my Great Bill was another find. I was at a auction where they sell birds. I found a Great Bill and brought him home. Went to the tanyanathus society and talked to the president. Sent pictures to breeders knowing he was a very rare find wild caught. I sent to a breeder his name was Billy Big Beak so he could have a girlfriend in exchange for a baby Great Bill. That will be George!

Last one! Ronnie my galah! The good old birdfarm! January this year I found Ronnie clipped supposeably 9 months old. He is now sitting on my foot and flying like a pro in my house with Daphne and Peaches. Ronnie and Daphne are best of buddies!

I also have a 34ft aviary and they are now going out there so I can bring Fred and Tofu out. The great bills will go to aviary to!

Wow! That was long!

Hi Barb, Welcome to Parrot Chatter! So nice to have you here. I enjoyed reading about your flock. Thanks so much for posting their stories. I look forward to hearing so much more about them.

You're right we are set up much differently than a Yahoo group. Hopefully you like it and in no time at all will be a pro at posting and finding everything.

Here's a link to a thread that may be of some help while getting to know the board.

Loved you responce. Is this Birdfarm a rescue?

I know what you mean about all the baby bird stories - i got myself a baby Budgie last year to deal with this issue - however I always encourage others to look into rehomes or older birds cause they are a lot of fun & are so needy.

Now I can't wait for all your photos - I hope you can post them. I guess you will be posting in the various forums. I'll look for them. I imagine you have lots of stories about each one as well. How they are & how they interact.

George sounds very interesting - how is he doing on his own, species wise? I can't wait for his photos & learning more about Phil.

Great names too. ....not too long a reply - I am notorious for those!
