Hi Darb, Welcome to Parrot Chatter!!

Greetings from us & the flock in the western 'burbs of Minneapolis.
Been lurking for over a year and finally decided to join this good group

We are parronts to 10, or make that 12 budgies (adopted 2 last weekend from a woman that had 3 but her 15-YO B&G decided to snack on 1 when he escaped from his cage - not gonna say anything more about this) (and I really, really should stop browing the various classified ads on all the you-know-what lists). 9 boys, 2 girls and what we think is a girl from the last adoption but she's too young to be sure (although Goldie is feeding her through the cage bars - hmmmmmm). And one cuddly female IRN. More on her and the budgies in the appropriate forum later.

They are all indoor free-flighted and are extremely comfortable and very well cared for in a large bird-room we set up a few years ago. They all have cages but only a few actually use them when the lights go down at night and its beddie-bye time.

Louie (and a few of you know him - go to YouTube and search for LouieBudgie) is a little over 7 and quite the talker.
Clarice was adopted in October '03 as a companion/mate to Louie but he would have nothing to do with her. She had 2 infertile clutches with him.
Reuben was a lost soul that was found in a driveway in the summer of '04. Brought him home and 2 months later they produced babies. A lot of babies. 7 clutches and 32 babies from non-stop ACTION in and out of the nest box. We had to retire Clarice from the egg-laying business with a lot of tough love. More on that later.
We kept 5 of their children (Goldie, Max I, Max II, Dave, Jerry). Rehomed the rest. Adopted 2 more in '06 (Pollie & Esther) and 2 more last weekend (Al & June - well, maybe June).
Sami 2-1/2 year old female IRN that we "traded" 10 baby budgies for in October '06. Did not want another parrot species but she was forced upon us and we are so happy she is a part of our flock.
