Every first Sunday of the month, ParrotChatter will hold a themed photo contest. Before participating in the photo contest please read the rules.

Please note: Moderators and other administrators are eligible to submit pictures in the contest. However, their entries will not be included in the voting poll. They are allowed to vote in the poll.

Only one photo per bird, and one photo per post. If you have multiple birds, you may enter more than one in the contest, but make each a separate entry.

How to submit your picture:

In the contest forum each individual member's entry will be submitted as a post within the current month's themed thread, i.e. Feb-Birds in Love. Open the thread, post your reply, and attach picture with your story.

What needs to be included in your submission:

Your submission picture must be accompanied with a short story about the bird or birds pictured, birds name, and species.

How to Vote:

After the entry deadline (view Entry and Voting Timelines below) the thread will be turned into a poll system. You may vote using the poll. One vote per member username.

Entry and voting timelines:

Entry will open on the first Sunday of each month. The contest will be closed on the following Sunday, and voting will commence.
Members can vote until the third Sunday, when the poll will be closed and the winner determined and announced.

Prizes:
If you are a contest winner there will be a Winners Forum set up titled with the current months winner. ( Example: Winner for February's- Birds in Love is BIG RED with Captain Jack) The forum will host your picture submission with your story for the entire month!
Contestant winner will be notified via PM as well as congratulated in their own birds forum!

Suggestion Amber. Since I run the same thing on another forum. I have one thread that tells the topic of that Contest ie Best Food Face etc.
The people post their pic in that thread with the birds name/s and their species.
When the thread is ready to vote. I close it and put up a poll with all the entries on it. It allows people to vote, counts the votes and you can make it private so that feelings don't get hurt by whomever votes for who.

Just a thought that might make it easier for you.

The Winner gets their own thread with the announcement and the winning pic.

BTW - I love your Valentines idea - do you mind if I use that thought for themes on mine?

You are a life saver! I have been trying to figure out a way to make the contest easier and I was thinking it would be a better idea to have a featured winner instead of worrying about sending out prizes and etc...
