This is my dear sweet Buddy Bear. This big boy means the world to me. I brought him home from the county 4-H fair as a giant-footed, floppy-eared, 4 month old puppy in the summer of 1996. This dog was my best friend through some of the toughest years of my life, as my mom's accident was the next year- 1997. Over the years we've brought home 5 Grand Champion obediance awards and 4 Grand Champion showmanship awards from the same county fair that he came from. Buddy has survived being run over by a semi, and has a rod and pins in his front right foot. My sweet boy will be 12 in April and we're all praying he has a few more years left in him. My heart just breaks thinking of the horrible day that is going to come much too soon.

This is our happy go lucky pup Zoey Rabbit. "Rabbit" because she lives to chase them. Along with 'sit' and 'come', 'rabbit' is the final word of the 3 that she knows. All it takes is a whisper and she's off like a shot, right on the trail- although to my knowledge she's never even caught one. Zoey is 4 and is the sweetest mutt you'll ever meet. She loves to go to the lake, go boating, and even tube. Zoey the young puppy was found running around the city park and was a few days short of being put to sleep when I brought her home. Dad came home, spent a few extra minutes outside with the dogs- numbering 5 with Zoey, then walked in and never said a word about it. She was part of the family from that moment on.

Thousands of years of breeding and a lifetime of training to chase small fast moving objects can't be undone. Justy came to us at the age of five, which is the mandatory retirement age, and ruled the household as a "thirty mile-an-hour couch potato" for the rest of his life. Love ya, Ja Boo!!

Nate, I have often heard Greyhounds make great pets. We almost adopted one about 10 years ago.

I brought Cowboy home from a Petsmart who was hosting an adoption weekend for a rescue called Pic-a-Pal. I had been by Petsmart the weekend before and had seen a dog that I just fell in love with. Well, the next weekend that sweet little dog was gone. I was heartbroken, but not for long. Cowboy, then called Faux Paux of all things, was going up to the women and giving them the big pleading puppy eyes. I was hooked. When I got him home I found out all kinds of things about Cowboy through his actions. The first and foremost horror was that he didn't know how to play, or what in the world a toy was. After about a year he finally learned to play and has come such a long way from that scared, insecure boy he was.

Here's a picture of my Momma's Boy playing hide and seek with one of his blankets, lol.

Blondie is the product of an "accidental" litter. I brought her home from a woman that was looking to find homes for the litter of 7. She has been a joy and a PITA, lol, as I haven't had a puppy since I was 8 years old (we know Mom was doing "the taking care of" then). She has grown and grown, and grown some more. She is a sweet girl, but still quite the puppy at one year old. One of her favorite games is to find a bug and bring it back into the house. She usually runs over to a rug and drops the bug. She then proceeds to torment it by watching it crawl for a while and then picking it up again. Or, as this picture shows, she just smooshes them with her nose, lol. I don't know if she feels them moving under her nose or what, but she will sit there with a bug smooshed between her nose and the carpet for a very long time. Only to let it crawl some more and start the process all over again. I've tried to rescue the bugs, but she's pretty savvy to me coming to their rescue and will run off with them now. Stinker.
