Default What does a Scarlet-chested Parrot do when its 117 Deg F?

In South Australia the locals told me to be out in the desert during this period was unthinkable with temperatures rising to 47 Deg C or 117 F. However I had flown too far and invested too much not to search for Scarlet-chested Parrots. I explored the desert area north of Adelaide for a whole week and was rewarded with this encounter. This gorgeous little male could only dig into the sand where it was cooler to escape the torturous heat and scorching breezes.

Swarms of flies were so bad I couldnt concentrate on filming so had to wear a head net for protection.

Well as the Story goes the way I heard it...
The mad dog got that glorious soup bone he was looking for even in the heat.
The Englishman got a wonderful plate of scones and tea and a sense of accomplishment that he endured the heat.
    and I.....

Received the dream of a lifetime...! Filming a species I was told would be unlikely to see let alone film in the wild! and what a fantastic reward for tolerating just a bit of heat..!
