A friend of mine has several pairs of POWs (Princess of Wales, or Princess parrots) and they are truly beautiful. One hen is still a pet although she's fully flighted and in an aviary. She'll fly to Jan and land on her when least expected. In fact, she seems to enjoy startling her human mom, and has turned it into a game of sorts. Jan plays along and gives her girl the reaction she wants.

They're a bit too shrill for me; at least, they were before my senegals managed to desensitize my hearing by repeatedly shreiking at other birds - while sitting on my shoulders.

But definitely gorgeous birds.
