I think I would let him go! This may be happening for a reason!

Yeah, I think I do want to see it. He's out of town, but I wonder if he'd mind if I just drove by it? I may have to ask. I'm sure he would like it better there IF it's a nice place. I feel like I'm being a little catty. I'd bet it is a nice place. They way the manager was talking about this guy Australian parakeets are his passion. She said that it has a free flowing creek in it and a little waterfall that goes into a koi pond. It's big enough that it has actual trees in it. My dream aviary. I am being a brat aren't I?

First that little parrotlet and now him. I just can't win. Listen to me...I'm totally making this about me. I should just let him go huh?

Maybe he's a cool guy too - another bird fancier - get him to join PC! Maybe you'll be able to come & visit the Rosella & see him in an aviary setting. If you want one later on you will know even more about them by then.

So what i'm saying is - if this is a greater place for him - I'd let him go.

Well, here's the next chapter in this GMR drama. I called the store and told them to give the gentlemen a call and tell him that he can have him. Broke my heart to say, but I really think it's for the best. She was happy and said that he's a really nice guy, and on and on. In fact he was on the other store line calling to see if she had talked to me about it yet. So I guess it's a good sign that he really wanted him. So anyway, I hung up and fifteen minutes later she called me back. His son was coming to pick up the bird tonight around 5:00 and he said that if I'd like, his son could take me out to his aviary and show me and my husband around. You all know what I said, "uhh...YEAH!! We'll be there at 4:45!" So I'm off to see where this little guy is going to live. I'm kind of excited, still a little sad, but hopefully everything will work out. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I also just want to say a great big THANKS to everyone for your support, insights, advice and expertise, I appreciate it so very much. And you're right "homebird" now if I ever get my own dream aviary and want to get a GMR I'll be that much more knowledgeable about them. Thanks! Okay, gotta get out of here and check out this aviary!!

Aww Vicki - what a hard decision, but I think you're making the right decision. He seems like he's going to a good home, where someone cares. I say definitely go and see the aviary - heck, you might make some good friends out of this and be able to visit the little guy every now and then!

I'm also a believer that things happen for a reason.

Wow, Vicki, what a twist! I agree with the others, go out and see the aviary (take pics for us if they let you). I would like to see what other Aussie birds he has. And please do let him know about ParrotChatter, sounds like he would fit in well here.

The other thing I was going to say is let the bird choose. Maybe he will have more of an attraction to one or the other of you.

One thing I am glad is that the little guy is getting out of that pet store!

Awww Vicki, I know it's hard to change your mind. But we can all see that you are thinking about what's best for the bird, and that makes you a good parront.
