We had an amusing day with JubJub today. For a normally quiet and non-exploring bird, he sure did get up to lots!
First, just after breakfast, I hear a funny noise from the cage beside my chair and look over to see JubJub haning upside-down from his perch, chewing on the bottom of it, wings flapping as he tried to stay put! He was having such a grand old time that he didn't even realise I was laughing at him for a good 30 seconds

. When he did, though, he looked at me and just let go of the perch, totally forgetting he was upside-down! Poor thing fell like a rock to the bottom, but was straight back up to the top and huddled up looking as boring as possible before I could even react

. He tried pretending to be asleep for a while, but I could see him watching me to check if I was still watching him

.
Next, at about lunch time, I was standing on the other side of the room and just about to walk outside when I glance over to see him crouched down over his perch. Thinking that something might be wrong, I turned to watch him, and must have startled him as he was about to jump, because he leaped from his perch to the swing, but totally missed, flipped over the swing and fell to the next perch! Once again, seeing me watching, he climbed straight back to the top and pretended to sleep again!
And finally, tonight, just as I sat here beginning to type this post, I hear a funny noise and glance over (carefully, just in case he's being funny again) and he was bobbing his head and "tooting" to a tune on the tv

. I've never seen him dance before, but he was having a good time bobbing along to the Simpson's theme song

.
Aah, what a day. If only I could have caught any of it on camera

. Despite the falls, I'm pretty happy by this, as I am hoping it means he's finally getting some more confidence

. Maybe he'll actually start playing with new toys when I put them in, too, instead of just freaking out

. He was interested in the bell I put back in today, and walked over for a quick look.
Silly silly JubJub, hopefully he'll be a bit more co-ordinated soon
