Default Toco Toucans

As promised, here are a few pictures I took today of one of the two Tocos we have....

Close-up view...

You can see the size of the cage they require, and I don't even think this is large enough...

They are such graceful creatures. Simply magnificent.

They are magnificent. Don't think I can squeeze one of those cages in here though. Just curious, do they do all right separately, or are they best kept as pairs?

They are both males, so they are separated (not sure if you can tell, but there are actually two cages there). Nate - the cage size shown is 80 x 42. Easy fit, right?

Ah, I see. 80 x 42....hmmm. That would just about do away with any remaining living room furniture.

What is their personality like? Can you handle them easily? Do they enjoy being handled? Are those 2 for sale, and if so, what is a typical price tag on them?

Your store looks fabulous! Could you maybe take some more pictures of it? It may be the closest I ever get to seeing it...

Also....... it appears that you got batteries! So.....where are the pics of your flock??

They are absolutely gorgeous! Your store is so awesome Kathy!

Jerry Jennings from emerald forest, that the toco's are one of the most intelligent and most playful of the toucans and are also very cuddly birds. I don't know about Kathy's store but they go from between 9-10 grand and up.

This summer I will have two good paying jobs so I have decided to put away a fair amount of money a week, so that in many many years (after I've graduated from college, moved to australia, and settled in for good) I will have a few thousand dollars to put towards either a toucan or a hy, unless I have a pet emergency and need to pay for it with that (my mom would lend me the money if I needed it but I prefer to pay for most of my things myself especially when it comes to all my children).
So save those toco's for me Kathy!

These are Emerald Forest birds. Yes, the price tag is definitely in the range you mentioned... just a tad more though!

They are not able to be handled.... but I'm working on it! I've been trying to hand feed them their blueberries. Funny - when they eat their blueberries, the "bottom of the cage" is very colorful from their droppings! A nice shade o blue....

I did get batteries. Will hopefully be taking pics of my fids tomorrow. I'll post some pics of the store soon.
