Default Finally saw some linnies...

...up close and personal!

I stopped at a local pet store on Sunday to pick up some hay for the bunny. The store sells all manner of pets, including smaller parrots (usually 'tiels, lovies, budgies and Sun conures). I don't know HOW I missed them upon entering the store but there they were: two blue lineolated parakeets (I *think* that they may have been cobalts), in a cage on the counter. The wee darlings appeared to be in good feather and were eating, perched side-to-side at a cup in the cage.

I've been meaning to get up to see Kathie at BP and to check out the linnies there. I'm afraid that I might give into temptation then and come home with one I've been wanting one for a long time so maybe I should give it some serious thought...

The linnies are just too adorable to describe: they are quite unlike any of the small parrots and are really not like "parakeets" at all! Denise, thanks for sharing all that you have about these fascinating critters!

Better hurry! We only have a few left! A lady came from West Virginia on Saturday and bought two (and a blue pacific parrotlet). One linnie she bought was a slate - really gorgeous. I can't believe how quickly they went! Their faces are just so adorable. Precious little birds.

I'd be very afraid that if I ever saw a linnie in person - I would bring one home!

I am so glad it is making people start looking for them.. I hate spending 8 or 9 weeks hand feeding these sweeties and watch them go out as breeders.... I want people to have them as pets.... And to soak up all these little gems have to offer.

They are so sweet.... and everyone seems to over look the Slates thinking gray is such a drab color.. but they are so beautiful.. Pictures just do not do them justice... Their face and chest are a lighter gray which is so pretty..
Yes, if you seen one up close... You would have to bring one home.. They are so sweet.

I wish we had Linnies and parrotletts over here in Australia. I have got to say how adorable they are and how much I would love to have one! Wait a minute, probably better that there is a whole ocean between them and me, who knows how many new bubba's I would end up with!
