Default The silly things Silk does

Just to make me laugh
This morning around 5 am I got up to change water bowls, pellet bowls and give them their breakfast. Silk starts doing a cute lil dance, hopping from perch to cage bar back to the perch then over to the empty water bowl holder. Then stopping back on the perch and holding her wings slightly out and swaying and clucking as she pins her eyes at me. She had me cracked up. I opened the door to put the fresh water in and she hung onto the inside of the cage twisting her head around to see what I was doing, then as soon as my hand was out of the way dove head first into the water bowl for a morning bath. Needless to say I had to change her water bowl twice, once after she was finished then again after Ms Pepper decided that she wanted a bath too.
Then came their breakfast, sweet potato puffs to start with which Silk loooves. So she was covered in sweet potato (and had to wash her purdy beak off in her clean water bowl), I will be putting their fruit/veggies in their bowls in a minute which should last them till just after lunch time.
Silk throughly inspected the fresh pellets in the pellet bowl, chewing one thoughtfully then delighting in slowly turning and dropping it over the side.
She does my little chuckle now, which makes me laugh when she does. She even does it at the right time, like when I scolded her for wasting pellets.
And Silk is a compete camera hog, I was sitting down next to the playstand while Silk and Pepper were out (about half an hour ago) Pepper simply gets on with running a muck on the stand, throwing the toys off one at a time, peering over the edge to see them hit the floor and then screaming for 'someone' to pick them up. Silk sees that mummy has got sometime in her hands, and runs over to see what it is. So I ended up with Silk in my lap trying to bite the camera so I still don't know what is wrong with it.
As I type now she is running around on the top of the computer table, chewing bits of paper that I am most likely going to have to hand in to someone, and chattering away to me.
Silk makes me smile and laugh everyday with the things she gets up to. She just loves getting out of the cage and coming to see what I am up to. Laughing surely is a great start to any day.

Ollie thinks wasting food is hilarious also! Thankfully she prefers to only drink nicely out of her water bowl, so changing once a day is the norm!

Fids sure do make the days a little funnier, and a little sweeter.

What a funny story! It never fails here either. I get their play cages all perfect, fresh food and water, clean kraft paper on the floor and one of them looks at that clean cold water in the dish and 10 minutes later everything is soaked!! I no sooner get it all cleaned up AGAIN, and the other one starts!

I was so proud of the progress I had made with the budgies and eating pellets and came home to find about a thousand of them spread all over the living room. Someone had a pellet slinging party while I was at work, and the pellets are too big for the finches and canaries and too little for the tiels and IRN, so we know who the culprits are! What a hoot.

Silk does have you well trained!
