Default Colour mutations

What is your favorite ringneck mutation? I love the super expensive Violets

And I would die for a white head white tail blue like this boy here

I would still have to say that the Skyblues and the pastel Skyblue (like Pepper) are my favorite colour.

Its a bad photo lol, I will get an updated one of her soon.

What's your favorite? Post a picture and tell me about it, I would love to see what colour is most popular

They are no longer rare, still abit hard to get a hold of here, I'm not sure about over in the States though. Here they fetch around the $3000 mark, though it might have dropped a little this year. Considering I could buy a Red Tailed Black Cockatoo for just over $2000 this is a big price.I am hoping to perve on a few at the Brisbane Bird show and Expo this weekend.I will be taking my camera if I can get it fixed.
Who knows what I might come home with!

I want one in every color! The albinos and lutinos are striking, and that violet is a beauty. But you know me, some poor featherless bird will walk in the door and I will be in love.

Ya know Mary of all the colors that the Lutino is still the most bought by pet owners? Was speaking to a breeder the other day, she is the lady who bred Biscuit, and we were talking colors. Urgh I still have no idea about genetics though, a few mintues into the conversation and my head starts hurting

I don't get on here much, but had to reply to this one. ( Too many things and not enough time)
I love just about any flavor of ringneck. What can I say - I am a Ringneck Junkie.
I will say thought that my favorite colors are the grey which I have already in the form of an evil nosey bird named Kismet.

I don't know why this is not showing the picture - it was before I edited for the link. GRRR!

But I also really like the Dark Factor Green, the Green split to Blue, the Cobalt and the Violet. I still think that a Normal green in good feather can't be beat for being a gorgeous bird.
Just like my Indy (Normal Green)

You just can't beat that.

This link has the other colors I talked about on the right hand side. The Dark Green is just a darker green. The Green split to Blue is a normal green with a bluish undertone. It looks like a normal green but if you know your ringnecks then you can tell there is something different - the colors seem to just pop a little more than the normal green.

Psittacula World

I love my Ringnecks!

Thanks for posting that picture of Indy posing so beautifully Clara, did it take a very long time to get Indy to pose like that? Mine never sit still long enough lol. The normal greens are very beautiful, if I was to get another ringie based on colour I think it would be one of those. I would love to have one of every colour lmao. I would like to have babies at some stage (maybe a few years down the track) and a pair of split to somethings is something I would really love to have. I have a problem understanding the colour genetics most of the time though. I am yet to find a link or book that can explain it so my little brain can comprehend it lol.
I looove looking at the pictures at Psittacula World, their just gorgeous birds!!
