He is super cute Clara, such a sweet voice for a little devil to have! Silk has a thing for feet to, only she steps up on them and tries to ride 'em.
About the being like cats thing... you know how cats get pissy if you catch them doing something silly? My IRN's get the same look on their face when I spot them playing really hard. Lmao, silly babes!

Thanks for sharing those photos.
I don't mean to push your buttons but the head through the bars really scares me...a great deal...
I pray all is okay....

I'm gonna jump in here in Clara's defense......I've known Clara for quite a while, she's had ringnecks for longer than I've had children, probably longer than a lot of members here have had birds. She would in no way put her birds in danger or allow them to do anything that would jeopardize their lives. I know she wouldn't share that photo in jest if it was a dangerous situation. I'm sure she'll appreciate your concern though, as anyone would.

Clara, do you remember when Chloe kept escaping from her cage, and I figured out that she was squeezing her entire body through a space that was barely an inch wide? They're like rats I tell you!!

Clara - I was laughing out loud watching your videos. I actually got a call in the midst of it and had to explain the "background noise".

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the compliment. He really is a beautiful bird and pictures don't do justice to the actual coloration.

As for the cage, He was the one that first discovered that the opening there was a large enough to put his head through - I didn't notice it when I bought the cage and I am very thorough when I get cages - I will not buy something unless I have seen it in person first and had a chance to check it out.

When he was first in there and did that, I was freaking out and was going to put something in the space to keep him from being able to get through there. From watching and trying other things, that would have been even more hazardous, I realized that there is enough room there for him to get his head through with extra room around. Try as he might he just can't shove his whole body through though he does try from time to time.

He has been in this cage for about 3 years now and does very well in it with no mishaps at all except for biting me!

I do appreciate the concern, but believe me if I thought for any reason that he was in danger then he would NOT be in that cage. With another bird it might not work, but with him it does. He is one smart cookie.

And mine get even more kooky if I act goofy. Course, then there is that "I didn't do that"/"Who me?" look.

Thanks Amanda - and no I definitely don't do the risky thing just for a pic.

I sure do remember Chloe doing that. They really are pretty smart birds - thank goodness not all of them try to be escape artists!

Thanks Kathie. I have to explain those background noises too when I get on the phone. They all have to scream as loud as they can when I get on the phone.

My Australian colleagues actually make a point of telling me to go out on the back porch when I call in to a tcon on Sunday evening, because they know the ruckus will be amazing once I start talking. I tell them they are mostly Aussie breeds, so it shouldn't bother them!

Band Aids, neosporin, and hydrogen peroxide are staples in my house. LOL I have gotten better about staying out of his way when he is in his cage now. I must be the only one that is a sucker for a little grey devil with a TUDE.
