Just found out I am the proud Grandpa of three new baby Sennies - didn't even know they were in the nest until the oldest left it yesterday or was tossed out by Daddy. Now I just need to decide on a selling price & find great homes for them.

Thanks Karen..... I always try and let any parents at least raise their very first clutch - for the experience.

I attach a small cage to the parents cage right after I remove the babies (for handfeeding) and then I place the babies in that cage daily so the parents can see that they are alright & didn't just disappear or get eaten up by the bad ole human who took them.

Even though these babies are this old already, they still do not bite thankfully and should tame down fairly easily once they get used to being handled and handfed (till fully weaned) by Moi. I'll prolly post some pics very soon - maybe in about 10 days if not sooner.

Btw, all their crops were empty when I took them out yesterday, so I believe Papa was keeping Momma from feeding them (shown by him constantly hanging on the nest entrance hole, while sticking his head inside and yaking at the 2 remaining babies in there) so they would leave the nest, maybe so he could maybe make amorous "gestures" to his S.O. - ASAP.... MEN!!!!!! ...

Perfect timing! Luckily I have these bird-unfriendly Parrotlets and work all day or I'd be right there. Senegals are my favorite.
