Very Cool!

I love those pictures. Do they have as much personality as their pictures suggest?

Personality plus, Tanks is the wifes number 1 friend, Most folks would think animals are not allowed in places where they sell food, not Tanks, the folks at the pizza joint look forward to Tanks visit, at Wallgreens Tanks has a girl friend, she always has a treat waiting for him.
Tanks has a vocabulary of close to 80 words now, the wife takes him where ever she goes.
Tanks volunteers for our local bird club Minnesota Companion Bird Association, where he Wooos the crowd at The Pet Expo

You drop something, Tanks will remind you, Uh Oh Pick it up.
You go out the door, Tanks will tell you..BYE BYE, come in, Well Hello.
When one of the birds flys to the ground, Tanks yells Getem Getem.
When the wife comes home from work and heads for her birds, Tanks will say Well Hello, what did you do today.

How sweet! You know I love them Quakers!!

Now you done it ,you went and made me cry.My first bird was Nicky the Quaker.Nick passed away in Dec after a 5 yr battle with FLD.God I miss that boy.He was the best talker here,he taught the Macaws alot of what they say now.There is nothing like a Quaker!!!!!! BTW-Where did you get Tank's ball he's playing in?? I know my Caiques would love to have one.

The little guys seems very happy inside the globe. Does he stay there much during the day?

Tanks is one of our birds that is let out by me each morning, he never leaves his cage, he doesn't fly off, jump off...whatever, he is a very very wonderful little bird.
We found him on the internet for sale, he was five months old, he flew freely through out these folks home, he had no cage, a simple play top with a hut hung onto the rod-perch.
No one could touch Tanks, he favored the dog, the dog was hit by a car (sad), then Tanks took to the youngest child, a 3 year old little girl was the only person that Tanks allowed to touch him.
Those (Jolley Time) balls can be bought on the internet, my wife found this one at PetCo, she brought it home and asked me to drill holes here and there and she basically added ropes and little chew me things here and there, she said they were to expensive, so we made our own.
Yes, Tanks stays on his cage and plays in his ball all day long.
Knowing what I know about these little gems makes my heart break for the feral Monk Parakeet better known as "The Quaker".
Parrot Island has these balls for sale, you can order them on-line, I will look for some links and post where a person can order just the ball itself (much cheaper) and add what you want.

What a great adventure spot for a fid! Wouldn't you and the wife like to come visit in beautiful sunny California (I've done MN in the winters.....brrrr) and teach my fids to talk? Best any of them can do is intonation, can't quite get the words out yet!
