Just wanted to share a few pics of the newest members of the family

...
First chick hatched Thursday, second chick friday though the eggs were laid 3-4 days apart. Third chick looks like it is about to make it's way in to the world soon, maybe today. Two more eggs after that.
The parents are a pair that I took in when the owners were leaving the country...the nestbox had never been out of the cage and I was told they laid "blanks" every month like clockwork (for YEARS). Thier diet was straight sunflower seed.

I immediately removed the nestbox and transitioned them to Harrisons high potentcy pellets, fresh fruits and veggies. I have had them a year. They did not lay until about a month ago, I did not give them the box back until it became obvious that they were laying eggs no matter what. Really did not expect fertile eggs but figured if nothing else, the parents were much better nourished!
