Default Brought a friend home for Noah...

Noah is my self mutilator quaker whos about three years old. He's the most adorable little thing but he like to pull out his feathers & cut open his legs :-(

My friend that runs a rescue thought Noah would like a friend..she got a single quaker in a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say, Pippin came home with us.

Now, Noah is very laid back, loves to cuddle and every so often will beat up Piglet. Pippin is constantly moving, shaking his head and talking. He knows his name is Pippin and that he's a good boy ;-)

Here's my little Noah...

and here's Pippin....

Oh, thats so awsome!! Congratulations... Does adding a second Quaker double the noise? I have a female quaker who is a real mean, untouchable bird and I know of a quaker who needs a home I was thinking about giving her a friend... But I have close neibors and am worried about noise..lol..

One of these days, I'm gonna take the ride up and see you. I'd love to meet you and the fids... And Cracker Barrel... mmmmm...

These are the little ones I pray for the most, they are very special birds that need the most tender loving care.
Thank you so very much for being that special person these birds need.
Bless your heart.
I pray these 2 get along and this hopefully helps you to get that lttle bird back into shape.
Take Care
Arty

That's great news. I hope they can be good pals.
Everyone needs a friend don't they? Not that your place is empty! ~ but it's a caring gesture to the little fellow.

Thanks everyone.

No, Pippin is chatty but not overly loud. Harley on the other hand makes a noise that's a cross between a rooster and a crow...he does that to make sure you know he's there.

Pippin is learning boundries, which has settled him down. The first day I met him he was nippy. Now I don't know about you guys but I'd much rather be bit by a macaw because you can see it coming. I used a glove for 5 minutes and he learned not to bite.

Josh - you are welcome to come visit anytime! I would try using gloves when working with your quaker. Once you get her used to stepping up and being touched you can remove the glove.

Arty - I got both quakers from Barb....Noah came home with us the weekend of her grand opening in January and we brought Pippin home after our visit this past weekend.

For those of you who don't know Barb she's the owner of Second Chance Bird Rescue in Rochester. She has a 5,000 sq ft shelter for the birds. check out her website...her small bird room is amazing! So's the big one.
