Well, everyone, Winkie is finally mimicking something he's heard. Mom put him in his cage last week, put her face in the door & was making lots of kissy noises while saying 'Good boy, Winkie'. To our surprise he started kissing back at her & making other squealing noises! Well, the next afternoon I heard him practicing! He stopped when I came in sight tho. Today I had him in the cage & was going "kiss, kiss? Good boy, etc." until he started kissing back & when I said "good boy" he repeated the noises.

He can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leah that's great news! I get the biggest kick out of being sneaky and listening to the birds as they practice.

Kady is getting much better about talking in front of me these past few months, but I still hear the best phrases he can say when he can't see me.

Winkie is one smart bird. It's so nice to hear them speak. He will problably pick up more words easily now.
