She was an excellent mommy (see picture of babies in avatar). They turned out wonderfully. The only problem is that mommy was inexperienced and stopped sitting on her 4 other fertile eggs (we had a total of 6 fertile eggs) once the first two hatched. She focused on them.

If you could use three words to describe your parrotlet which three would you use?

Playful, energetic and fiesty.

Another question for those who have more than one, do you find it beneficial to your parrotlets to have more than one?

I think it depends upon the bird. Our female was broody from the get go, seemed to look for another parrotlet, calling out frequently. When we brought home our male, she was fiesty, broody, but seemed happier having a companion with her.
Our baby, Stringbean, is still too young, but does not seem to crave having a companion in his cage. That may be because we still have mom and dad and they call back and forth all day.
Bottom line, I think it depends upon the bird, their personality, behavior and want. Gizzie definitely benefited from a companion as did Sprout who had been bonded with a similarly colored clutchmate at the breeder's aviary.

One more for now, how many have parrotlets that pluck or show signs of feather destructive behaviors? For those of you that have more than one, how many in your parrotlet flock pluck or show feather destructive behaviors?

The only time we've seen any plucking from our parrotlet, Gizzie, was when she was nesting. She plucked a brooder's patch, which has since regrown and she has shown no other signs of plucking.
