Do you notice a difference with talking, between the genders?

Kady (male) talks much more than Kita (female).

Not here. Some of our best talkers are female and some are male. I don't think even the species are different, we have 2 blue and golds, one talks all the time and the other one, only a word or two. Our Hys the same way, one a chatter box and the other just chimes in now and again. Kind of like humans, some are chatter boxes and some aren't!

I live in a house FULL of males. They never shut up (especially Arthur!)--yak, yakitty yak yak yak all the time.... It's a guy thing, I'm sure :-).

I honestly don't think it's a gender thing - just the desire and fun of talking!
My 18 yr. old female DYH zon never shuts up - even talks herself to sleep. My 1 1/2 yr old male RB2 already has a large vocab. whereas my 8 yr. old female G2 only says about 15 different words. My 28 yr. old female M2 only says "oooooh, I love you" - which is enough for me!

Yeh I often wondered if there was a diffeence between male and female with talking.....good question........I'm interested to hear everyones answers

For us it is kind of hard to say. Not all of ours have been sexed so it is kind of a guessing game.

Out of the macaws it seems to be species. The Gws are both much better talkers. They also are much better singers.

Angel our Hy is really starting to get a vocabulary. It could have something to do with Hedwig, a GW, whose cage is next to hers.

Gizmo the YSA is probably going to pass them all by. He sings and dances and talks all the time. I can't understand everything but he really mimics my voice. He does the Eagles fight song and then will quickly change to "Let's Go Flyers!". He is an equal opportunity sports fan.

Aside from my Eclectus and my caique, I really do not know the DNA on any of my other birds.

I have one excellent female Ekkie talker and one excellent male. The others are mediocre and one does not talk at all.

I have other excellent talkers, but not sure of their gender.

I only have one macaw and he is a DNA'd male who turned 2 years old last month. Cooper's vocabulary has suddenly taken a big upswing the last few weeks. At the turn of the year he was only saying his name but now he says many different phrases like "Stop that Cooper"!! Wonder where he heard that before?

No he isn't - I haven't heard him say GO COWBOYS!!!
