Yes as a matter of fact.We call it Macaw stew! Our guys put their wooden chunks of toys in the water and everything they eat must be dipped first . Just shows ya how important it is to keep their water bowls clean lol. Not near as much fun if its already dirty

We get birdy soup and stew around here. Tiki does it every day, especially with breads. Red does it once or twice a week.

Lately we have grashopper toy colored water.

I think it is just scientific experiments to see if it floats. It is almost the same as testing gravity to see if toys falls up or down.

I've never found anything but the occasional feather (and occasional poop when I've arranged the perches in a bad way) in Ollie's water. Sounds like I'm pretty lucky!

I think they're waiting for their human to clean it up afterwards - isn't that their job! Humans need to feel needed. A bird's just helping a bit.

It seems OK to offer them dunking water, as they like to dunk - but do you also resort to water in another area or different container, for the original idea of fresh water to drink?

My little Budgie doesn't dunk but he does get bits of food in there anyways as drinking seems to rinse him mouth.

I even found a SS screw in Tiki's water once, that she had pulled from her perch, I didn't notice and I have NO idea how she got it as I would have thought she would have had to be OUTSIDE the cage to access it, the perch wasn't falling or anything! That was scary; good thin we use SS.

Hubby came running up to me all upset one day..... Tiki had red water, he thought she was bleeding or something.... she was just softening a wood block!

Merlin LOVES to make soup with each water change we get a new color. Sometimes he just uses the orange pellets and sometimes it's just the green but when he uses the purple ones it looks like DIRT. He even enjoys dipping his baby keys in it and licking the water off of them. Maybe he thinks he's using a spoon. I dunno!
