Default What's the Most

you've ever spent, or would spend on a single toy for your macaw ??

I went to the bird store tonight to buy Roxie a few things with "her share" of our income tax return. Promised myself I wouldn't spend too much on any one toy .... but I found one that was *gulp* $42.99 ... it just looked like something she'd absolutely love, and I had to buy it !
They also had a really cool swing that was something like $55 - I left it there! LOL

I do recycle a lot of toys and we cut and color some blocks of pine ourselves, but I felt the need to splurge. She also got a new pinata, and another shredder-type toy. I can't wait to give them to her tomorrow (I got home after she was already in bed)

So - fess up - would you, or have you ever spent 55 bucks on a swing? 43 bucks for a bunch of wood and rope ? I can't be alone here !

Well I don't have a macaw, but Ollie can be pretty destructive. Thankfully, I don't spend more than $5 per toy because I make my own. I do buy some foraging toys (plastic usually) that I can't make though (and sometimes, like you, I splurge). The most I've spend on a toy for her is probably around $25. I would never spend more than $30 on a single toy.

It depends on the swing- it would have to be a pretty cool one to have me spend more than $35 on it!

There is a pet store here that has really improved on its bird toy selection. I was in there the other day and they had some of those $40-45 toys- my jaw dropped! They really were just rope and wood- nothing even very fun!

I also make most of my own bird toys. And of course - don't have anything close to the size of a macaw! When I splurge on the fids toys - I buy toys that I can't make on my own. Like the new foraging toys that are out right now and stainless steel toys. We got our income tax back over the weekend and I must admit - the birds have some good stuff coming!!

I make almost all of Jack's toys, but there was a toy at a fish/petstore by my house that I wanted to get soooo bad! It was huge, but so was the price (it was $45) and all it basically was, was a bunch of cut up colored wood and chains but I thought it looked awesome. You should send pics of the toy and Roxie playing with it (just to see how special it really is )

When I first got my Hys, it was soooooooooo hard to find toys that were less expensive than $55! I now make my own toys since the $55 only lasted a day!

I probably spend more on my fids than I do myself, so, yes, I would have spent that much! It's always nice to see them gnawing away at their new toys, isn't it?

I almost bought a swing that was a little too small for my guys that was $55, just cause I liked the way it looked. I did buy Kady some of the gigantic wood toys when I first got him. They're still decorating his cage. Mine prefer the smaller toys I make for them now.

Here's the toy - it's about 20" long

But, why play with the $43 toy when this $12 toy has things I can rip off of it ??

She did check out the big toy, but the straw hats with all the doodads was even better. I'm sure it'll be destroyed by the time I get home tomorrow!

I think my money was well spent !
