Is it OK to soften my 8 month olds pellets with a little water before I give them to him? Doc is a dunker and I'm going crazy trying to keep his water bowl clean.
I tried a water bottle for the inside of his cage. He decided that it was big fun to use his beek to push the little ball up and watch the water fall out. He'd stop bob his head and laugh then do it again 'till it was empty. So much for that idea!

Tess, it's perfectly fine to soften them. But is you do they'll have to be treated as if they were fresh food and removed after a few hours if he hasn't eaten them. If he'll gobble them right up, try softening them with some vegetable or fruit juice.

Mine think they're part Beaver and have to wash their food before eating it also!
