So I know I've mentioned before about how sometimes Harley would fly across the room, from his play stand to get back to his cage, but it would be all clumsy and he'd land in the porch...etc....LOL.

Anyway...even that was rare.

BIG step tonight. Me, Rob and the 2 fids were hanging out in the kitchen. Harley was on his window perch. All of a sudden he up and took off from there, Rob stuck out his arm and he landed right on Rob!!!! It was sooooo cool!! So I guess he's getting better at flying. Before we know it he'll probably be flying all over and then I'll be posting complaining about it....Hehehehe.

Anyway, it was very cool!

It is really fun to watch them fly from one parront to another to. Just give them a lift and off they go. So, Kris, are you looking for "high" ceilings for you new house?

Oh it's so fun! Just wait until he's navigating hallways and corners! Ollie can get through doorways with the door only open about 2 inches. She'll land on top of the door, use her body to make the space a little bigger if need be, then she'll just dive straight down the other side of the door. It's so hilarious! Of course a macaw is a little more limited on what they can do indoors, but it's still amazing the way they can control their flight!

Ya it's exciting, I am looking forward to him just flying around....

I know I know...I say that NOW lol....

It's probably just a novelty to us because Maple is fully flighted but she can't and/or won't fly...so we aren't used to it at all....

So I guess we'll learn together.
He's such a good baby!

Oh my gosh Camille. Boca does the same thing on the top of doors. Maybe it's a Grey thing.

Too cool, Kris! All of my macaws are flighted except for Bowie (because he came to me already clipped), and it can be a LOT of fun watching the "fighter pilots" maneuver around the house. Enjoy--and keep a close watch on ceilings, trim, curtains and lamps--all of which make fun perches to be destroyed, if not guarded from happy macaw beaks :-).

It's an awesome experience when they first start flying.
The problem I have here is that I can't get anything done cuz' they keep flying to me.
