Default smart bird

well, as a first time macaw owner..... Jewel keeps suprising me.... she is so awsome!

Today I came home and every one of her toys were at the bottom of the cage.... at first I thought she destroyed them all... then I realized she unscrewed all of the quick links and droped them to the bottom... Every one!... I'm glad she keeps busy while I'm gone, but now I'm busy putting tem all back LOL

Just wait until she unlocks the back door for you when you get home!

Or learns to open her food bowl doors, or the front door of the cage, and then.... then.....

She goes and lets all the other birds out, too :-).

They're such fun, aren't they?

Oh Josh as everyone else said the best is yet to come....Try explaining to your step mother that the reason one of the legs on her brand new dining room table from Ethan Allen, has been chewed to bits because your favorite macaw let 6 other birds out....Its not a pretty picture..I'm still paying that table off lol

She's going to be quite the character! I'll be looking forward to further updates as she grows up

I hear ya! LOL....Maple used to do that ALL the time....now all her toys are hung on these heavy duty metal things that we tighten down with a wrench...heheh!

Harley just destroyed his first quick link yesterday..... didn't take him long...guess we better stock up!

They both already know how to unlock their cages and have to be double locked in when we are out of the house....

Oh the fun of it all! They are so interesting!

I too have read about the mechanical abilities of Macaws - little devils.

Guess you're going to have to work on some complicated toys for her to figure out while you're away.

That reinforcing of her cage lock may not be a bad idea - have read lots about Macaws wandering around the home only to greet their owner when they get home.

So Glad Budgies aren't so mechanical.
