Default Sleeping??

Do your macaws let you see them sleep? Ruby won't shut an eye unless I am playing asleep on the couch and then she has one open. The birds I have had before would turn their heads around and bury them in their backs. I have never seen Ruby do this. What do you think?

Merlin sleeps in front of me all the time... Charlie on the other hand is like a 5 year old, doesn't want to sleep unless everyone else is. (almost like he doesn't want to miss out on anything) Mike and i get up at 4am for work, and sometimes i will sneak into the kitchen to get a drink and try not to wake the birdies and in a soft voice i hear Charlie whisper "hi charlie" in the sweetest voice. maybe one of theses days i will be able to sneak up on him and catch him sleeping.

That is precious! "Hi, Charlie" Too cute! Maybe that is what it is with Ruby. She is very nosey and doesn't like to not be in on anything either! ha!

If Ryan didn't sleep in front of me I would've lost my mind by now and perhaps jumped out a window.

I see my baby mac sleep, but babies sleep a lot. Peanut, sun conure, does not sleep or ride in a shirt, too much chance he misses something.

Peanut is a sun conure, a lot of them choose to go inside a shirt and either cuddle and sleep or have a head peeping out. Pinky another sun goes and hides in the arm hole of T shirts and snuggles up. It's a good way to get triangle designer holes along the neck line also. Honey will beg to go in and then hold with her beak and drop her tail in first. She rides facing out, front or back of shirt.

Ruby does this too. Of course a macaw in your shirt is rather hard to function with, but she sure tries! ha!
