Default Seed Mix

For those of you that feed a seed mix, what kind do you use?

I think I have tried just about every one of them out there and have
finally settled on the GoldenFeast Caribbean'Fornia. The dried fruits
are unsulfured and there are no chemical preservatives.

INGREDIENTS: California gray striped sunflower seed, dehydrated apples,
dehydrated papaya, safflower seed, cashews, white pumpkin seed,
dehydrated cranberries, whole raw almonds in shell, steam rolled
soybeans, diced pineapple, dehydrated carrots, dehydrated mangos,
sweet peppers, non roasted pepitas (shelled pumpkin seed), non
roasted shelled filberts, non roasted pine nuts in shell, roasted unsalted
pistachios in shell, whole cantaloupe seed, whole dehydrated cherries,
Goldenfeast® Granola (consisting of: rolled oats, rolled wheat, brown sugar,
canola oil, un-sulfured dehydrated coconut, sweet dairy whey, oat flour,
roasted almonds and honey), shelled non roasted Brazil nuts, whole dates,
dehydrated orange peel, dehydrated zucchini, chopped dehydrated peaches,
shelled non roasted walnuts, cooked dehydrated red kidney beans, cooked
dehydrated black eyed beans, cedar nuts in shell, cooked dehydrated
garbanzos (chic peas), freeze dried blueberries, freeze dried strawberries,
dehydrated plums, ginger, and natural lemon flavoring.

GUARANTEED ANALYSIS:
Crude Protein (min.) 13.75%
Crude Fat (min.) 8.25%
Crude Fiber (max.) 9%
Moisture (max.)3.25%
Ash (Max) 6%.

That looks yummy Karen! I don't feed Ollie any seed. Once she started eating her pellets, she would ignore any seed I'd give her. I haven't bought any in a long time.

That looks good Karen. I like Goldenfeast. And I notice the absence of WOOD in that serving LOL.

I'd probably rotate dfferent ones anyway so they didn't get the same thing all the time. Meaning rotate during the year. lol.

It IS a little high in sugar content with the brown sugar and all the fruits but you feed alot of other things and they don't eat this as a main diet anyway, just a treat. (thinking yeast too). You give the big Goldenfeast Garden flora veggies too right? Isn't it Kita that likes dry foods? I guess it depends on if they pick out too much fruit and ignore other ingredients....

Yes it's Kita that thinks fresh food is the devils spawn! She was cruising through my dinner plate the other night and stopped for a taste. So I can now add ONE kernel of brown rice, along with the corn to her fresh food resume.

I don't offer any seed mix until the end of the day with their nuts so it's definitely a treat portion and even with the small portion they don't eat much.

Wow, what a cornucopia! I'm very tempted to give it a try. Probably too big for Quito and Tausi, but I wonder if Chico would like it? Very difficult to get him to eat anything other than pellets, almonds, and carrots. I'm a bit concerned about the sunflower seeds, but I wonder just how much of a problem that is, in moderate amounts.

I've picked up several different mixes. Once they get home they get repackaged and thrown in the freezer in weekly size portions. I mix several together and I don't remember which ones I bought last.

The mix I'm feeding now does look similar to your plate less the raisons and thinned out a bit by other mixes.

I'll have to snap a plateful of my mix.

That one however looks very tasty. Think I'll be picking up some. Thanks for the tip.

hahahahaa

We eat good in my house, just ask my kids.

Er you can ask John but I seem to take time off from the kitchen when he's here so we either eat out or order in. He will say though that when I cook, you gain weight just from the aroma coming out of the kitchen.

He spoils me like that.....

Well think I'm off to do some mixing.
