My vet thinks that my Jessie is a miligold and not a B&G. What do you guys think?

Coloring around the face looks slightly different from my B&G's with that green there. I don't know anything about milligold's however.

Hmm...I've seen B&G w/ green around their black "beard" but not THAT much! He's a stunner!!!

Jessie is just gorgeous!! Grandma had a Miligold so she may be able help when she sees this.

What makes your vet think your bird is a miligold? Looks like a blue and gold to me with some green coloration on the bib. Besides the green coloring right there I honestly don't see any military in your bird. Here is our miligold for comparison.

I think it's because of the green patches on the bib and she also hsa some green pattches on the legs. The vet just said that the bird strikes him as a miligold and not a pure B&G. I just want to be able to call her a B&G or a miligold for future reference.....LOL..........I am such a nerd.

If she is a miligold I would say maybe one of her parents was a miligold and maybe one was a blue and gold being she has so few traits. I've seen lots of blue and golds and I have seen a few that had alot of green in their bib like your bird does but i'm honestly not sure as to if your bird has military in it or not, if it does I would say it has very little. I personally think she's just a blue and gold with some interesting coloration. To me I would just call her beautiful

Pure educated guesswork, here. I'd guess Miligold x BG, making it a second generation hybrid, if my guesswork is correct. The Miligolds I've seen usually have a lot more green, and yet I've never seen a purebred BG with the coloration yours has (and I've seen a LOT of BGs). So I'm thinking 3/4 BG, 1/4 Military. Perhaps more knowledgeable people than I am will have a more definitive answer. Whatever he is, though, he's a beauty, for sure. What a pretty face!

I dont care what type of bird it is but whatever it is, wow what a beautiful bird. Just stunning, and fabulous. ~Jenna
