We were all sitting in the living room the other day when Tiki cracks a particularly hard nut to crack (took her a few minutes, and they never do, she's so good at it).... so it crack and she pops of with "Oh Brother!!!!!!"

I have heard someone in the house say that once, maybe twice in the last year, and had never heard it before from her. We all agreed that is what she said as we all immeadiately started to chuckle.


What do your macaws pop off with that surprised you?

Red once said.... "Helicopter!!! It's ok....." when one came particlarly close. We live within a few miles of a small airport, and are always telling them the names of the flying objects, and tell them it's ok when they seem troubled by the mechanical hawks. Who knew a Macaw could repeat the word Helicopter!!! HA!

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes they say something and you are just like "Huh? Did I actually just hear you say that?"

Two good examples for me are.....Last summer, was letting the dog out. Always say to her...."wanna go out?"....went to the door, picked up her collar, before I could say ANYTHING....Maple says..."Hey Tiny...wanna go out?"...TOO funny! Never said it again.

Then..a couple of weeks ago...Hubby is at work and I am in the kitchen. I swear I hear him saying "Where's your Mom?" (which he says to maple all the time). Go into the living room, here is Harley asking Maple..."where's your mom?" in Hubby's voice!! It was crazy!

And it's even crazier when they start talking TO each other.

Harley: C'mere
Maple: (going closer) Hi Harley
Harley: (beak wrestles her) *laughs*
Maple: Owww! Stop it!
Harley: I'm sorry...kiss kiss?
Maple: MUAH!!!


Goes on like that!

They can really blow you away sometimes!

Helicopter...now THAT is amazing!

The 2 most recent are from Oz(GW) I told her "kimme kiss" the other day and she replied " in a minute",don't know where she came up with that. A few days later I was feeding them and singing along to their radio,Oz started quacking and I said "you think there is quacking in every song" she said "No" I told her "oh yes you do" and she said "oh no" They make everyday worth getting up!!!

That is a good one!

Kady was on my shoulder and we were looking out the big front window. He leans forward and says," What the heck is that?" That was the first time I had heard that one, but he does say it often. He also mixes it up every so often and says, "What's up with that?"

But the one that had me crying, was the day he bit me and I must have rolled my eyes or gave him the look, and in the most sarcastic tone you've ever heard, he looked at me and said, "Whaaat?"

Then there's the reminder for me to use my manners. I say to him, "Come Here" he then says, "Please."

Gotta love 'em!

I remember when Winged Victory yelled "Oh no, help!" as he was flying down the mountain after being clipped only one week before. How he knew what to say still escapes me. The great ending to the story is that we found him with the help of his buddy Zeta who called out for him as we were searching through the blackberry bushes. He answered her call and we rescued him.
