I had similar thoughts.

- Oh my - you just have to laugh a little in the face of all this sorrow. The woman who flipped out - wow, I'm not happy about her .... what to do to help our freaked out humanity? The pets - thank goodness she fessed up so they got saved.

That cat looks very content.

Well Bubba's true colors are coming out, I was told when I picked him up, by the friend of the women who left them, That she had heard Bubba attacked another bird,I had a hard time believing this sweet boy would do that.
Well I let him out yesterday and watched him he got down from his cage and headed straight for Baby, and wanted to fight, I told him no so he turned around and headed towards Jackie same thing wanted to fight.
So he is not bird friendly, which is going to make him a hard placement, he will not stay on his cage.

First off well done its great you were there to step in to take these poor babies away and to give them a home where they can be loved and cared for properly without ever having the feeling again of being abandoned.

Now onto this so called woman These birds are so lucky to be out of that persons life anyone who could disregard any life like that does not deserve to breathe the same air as I do. I believe this is going to be a more common issue with people losing thier homes and jobs and with the economy being how it is lot of people are at thier wits ends. I am not condoning this at all heaven forbid. And with birds where can you take them if you are not a forum junkie (I am) you dont have all the resources that we have through networking with other bird lovers. It does look like the B&G is pretty good shape considering. So he had to be loved at one point. And a 30lb cat WOW that one wasnt missing any meals. Anywhoo how are the other birds doing in good shape and feather as well? This situation could of been a lot worse. So happy that someone discovered them before anything really bad happened. This woman should have charges pressed against her for the endangerment of animals and abandonment issues.

The other birds are so so, First the landlord had set the Doves free, I asked her to catch them, which was a easy task, as they were pets and wanted back in their cage.
The tiels were used for breeding, so they are not tame , some plucked and a couple with leg deformities ,They have been separated and doing much better.
The sad thing is this lady was a so called rescue and wild life rehab, and she turns and pulls this crap, I have no respect for people like this period !!

Most cats are not bird friendly.

My friend down the hall adopted a kitty I directed her to 2 years ago. Topaz was almost round when she brought her home. I had watched her live in a pet store [connected to the local rescue] & because of her 'flight & search style' she was kept in her 2'x2' cage for 6 months. She always called out to me when I was there. So Linda took her & I was the wheel man. When we got her home she was so fat her belly was on the floor & she would collapse after walking only a few feet. She'd lie there panting. Now she can run the whole length of our building's hallway 200' approx [?]- from her home to mine as fast as you can run. I don't think she'll ever be a thin cat but she is so much happier. She is not bird friendly so when she visits the Budgies lads are closed in the back room.

I think there are more cat people out there than bird people. I guess you'll have to look at different contacts than you're used to. I wish you & him all the best. He is a very handsome fellow.
