Can't wait to see it! As I recall from previous builders, you're in good company with the hand pain. Sounds like you build things like I do, "hey that's a good idea, but what if I do this....."

Well I lied.

I decided to finish the final hoop and give my hands a longer break before I get started on the next one.

I figure that I'll have it put together by tomorrow night less the ceiling protector and poop tray. If I do get it together with enough time tomorrow night, I'll get some pictures of it with Mango on it. I expect those first pics will be bare bones before the dodads are added to the connecting points and the center toys.

After work on Friday will be supervising the boys (this includes John!) putting the new cage together. You know like making sure they follow the directions...

I'll also probably be cooking dinner during that time. I'm thinking beercan chicken or redbull hens on the grill.

The cross sections are screwed in place. I am going to add ties and beads as well. I was just too excited to show ya'll!!!!

Ok I just wanna make sure Im getting this right. When we fitted the one big hoop inside the other we tied it but screwed in the pieces at he cross fit. So you also screwed the horizontal to the vertical wheres theres no pvc cross piece?

Yes, the eight points where the hoops meet are screwed in place using a 1 inch screw. Irish recommended that for added support. When I switch to the black plastic tubing I'll end use a larger screw, perhaps a 1 1/4 so that I know it makes it thru 3 of the 4 pipe walls.

Another change I'll make with the next models...

There is room to move where the tubes go into the PVC crosses. I'm going to buildup the last inch of each piece with perhaps electrical tape before I wrap the rope on. I'm not set on electrical tape but I will use something so that the rope is a snugger fit into the PVC.

I've got some other small adjustments to make the the structure to make me happier...Let's call this the customizing stage.
