Actually, the photo is from when she was here before when I was hand feeding her for a friend. So, she is very young in that photo. I will take more photos today. She is 11 months old now and the home she went to was just not working out. She has always been a little different, VERY independent, from the start and she never really bonded with Tom. Well, Tom went away for 5 weeks to get married and since he has been back home, 3 weeks now, he has not been able to get anywhere near her. She runs from him and bites at him. He has to "catch" her to do anything with her. He has another macaw, a Blue and Gold, that simply adores him. So, he made the decision to give her up in her best interest. She spent the day with me at the store and her body language told us all how she felt. She doesn't like or trust Tom and was happy to come home with me last night. So, we will see where this road takes us all.... I don't really have room or proper accomadations for her. Pico doesn't think much of her at all so far. Pico loves Mikey. Maybe I can reintroduce her back with Tom and we can fix that relationship. Only time will tell. But for now, I have one of my babies back and it is VERY exciting. I think Greenwings are the best!

Mikey is still here with me as he is still hand feeding. Right now, tho', he is at his Mom's house visiting. She takes him for a few days a week and I go over there and feed him. Seems to work well for everyone involved.

All I have to say is it is a GOOD THING I don't live close! It would be quite dangerous---my house could use a few "red accents!" "Blue, Gold & Green" seem to be the main colors! lolol

How's Keli doing this morning, Deb? You can really tell how much she loves you.

I swear, Mikey hasn't stopped eating since he got here. He'll have that bag o'nuts you sent home gone by day's end, at this rate! LOL! Ok, he stopped eating long enough to land on the floor and then get some snugglins from his mama. He put up with it rather well, and even puffed his head up for me :-).

I feel bad for Tom, but I really didn't get the feeling that he was as heartbroken about Keli as we are feeling for HIM. I'm guessing Keli is going to blossom in your house, and before long (like when Mikey comes home to stay), she and Pico will become good friends. Hopefully not TOO good, tho', if ya know what I mean :-).

That's too bad. I truly believe birds are a "chemistry" thing just like humans. I'm glad he had the courage to come to you for help, rather than merely putting her in the newspaper or somewhere on consignment. So now she is where she was meant to be!

Well, she has decided Pico is alright and Pico thinks she is ok too. Whew! That is a relief... but that doesn't fix the issue of room or the dust issue. I have 6 birds that produce MAJOR amounts of dust that NO HEPA filter can catch all of it. Anyone elses thoughts on this? I know all about the dust, but all the accounts have been with Blue and Golds. I asked the local AV and she said all her experience has been with B&Gs too... never with any of the other 'Caws. Thoughts?

I have too many birds................ <sigh> and I can't say NO all the time. If Keli stays here I will surely have to give up my passion of Gouldian Finches. I can't take care of all of them. There is only one of me.... and I can't afford a clone yet!
