Phyllis you have a feathered sook! Lovely pics though. Dusty my corella (BE2) is allowed on my shoulder, she's nine and has never bitten me yet, she does remind me she's there sometimes by nibbling my ear though...and gets told "Gentle"

With our birds, most aren't shoulder birds. I do have two Hys that fly to my shoulder and sit while I am fixing dinner and I totally trust them.LOL I also know that I might loose my nose one day!

She always climbs down off her playstand and comes to find me. Considering how wild she was when she came to us, its really a miracle. She won't let anyone else handle her yet.

The ear "nibbling" is exactly why Frankie and Peabodi aren't allowed on my shoulder. Frankie has a taste for the crunchiness of ear cartlidge and Peabodi is an aspiring piercing artist......

I have had Rocky for about a month to a month and a half. When she wants to be social she will hop onto my arm and scurry up to my shoulder. Right now I am sitting in a chair next to her enclosure and she climbs down the ladder that I have my leg resting on, hops onto my leg and climbs up to me. Yesterday she nuzzled into my neck and hung out awhile. She has never bitten to be mean, just to test me and generally on my arm or hand. I didn't realize having them on your shoulder was an issue. I guess ignorance is bliss sometimes as she is my first macaw or bird for that matter.

My hubby allows Keke on his shoulder and he has gotten a few nips but she is real good with him. She will pull on his ear when she wants something (like she needs to potty). I one the other hand am not comfortable with her up there. I worry that if she decides not to behave I could lose parts of my head. She doesn't really try to get up on my shoulder. I think the often sense who is comfortable with them and who isn't.

I let Tabious on my shoulder all the time. He has never bit me yet. I know there's a chance like any wild animal but still to this day he hasn't. He holds on good when I am walking around the house. Jasper is allowed on my shoulder also. He loves sitting on my shoulder when I am vacuuming. He holds on good also. He will preen my hair when he's up there, but sometimes he pulls my hair a little to hard and it hurts. I tell him no and he usually listens. lol. I only have one on my shoulder at a time, because they both don't like each other, and they tend to get excited if they are both on me at the same time. So mommy has to take turns with both of them.
