#1 | | | Jewels had a bad week the other morning I woke up and noticed on Jewels right face patch, she had a really nasty bruise. She didnt seem to be boithered by me touching it, and its already looking much better, but it was really aweful looking. The vet said she probably knocked into a toy playing rough or maybe fell in the cage at some point.
Then the real pannic. Last night, I came home and Jewel was hanging upside down from the top of her cage very calmly. Its a normal site, she loves to hang and play. Then I realized she was too calm. There was a chain from a toy wrapped around her foot. I almost burst into tears right then. For the most part she was calm with letting me help, but she did give me a few big nips as I suspect it probably hurt. It was my own fault. There was a toy ontop of the cage that she chewed the wood off of and the chain was hanging down through the bars and I hadnt noticed. I calmly suported her in one hand on her back while I unhooked the quicklink and loosened the chain with the other hand. As soon as she was free, it was like nothing happened. Shes not favoring either foot. It was a little red last night, but looks normal this morning. The scarey part is thinking what could have happened. How long was she stuck like that? What was she thinking? Oh, my poor baby!! |
