He did his first "step up" yesterday!

I was taking them out of their cages and usually I have to grab him to pull him out (he's okay after you do that), instead he climbed to his food bowl and lifted his foot I figured ok I'll either get nailed or he'll step on me. I put my hand up slowly and let him step on me. I had to use the same hand to pick his other foot off the food bowl but he stepped up. Then when it was time to go back he did the same move.

It's taken me six months of working with him to get this far.

Awe Jeanne, what a nice story. It literally is one step at a time with these guys, isn't it. I hope now that you're seeing the beginning of him learning to trust that you'll be seeing lots of new behavior improvements soon.
