thank you all for the concern and care for ivy

she is THRILLED to have so many fans! i am sorry for the lack of updates, i just didn't want to seem like i was talking too much and annoying everyone lol!
ivy has been settling in wonderfully! we have somewhat of a routine. when i get up in the morning, i go straight to her cage and take her out. we snuggle on the couch for a while (it takes me FOREVER to wake up, this is a great way to do so!) i get her weight around 11am. it's been hovering around 1100 grams for the past few days. but at least she stopped losing weight. after that, i try to get some breakfast in her which usually is a failure. she seems to have lost interest completely in bananas. sometimes she will take a few bites of baby food and then refuses anything else.
i fill her pellet bowl and nut/fruit mix bowl, and add 3 mac nut halves in each. i also give her a whole brazil nut and almond in each. i put her in her cage after this and she goes straight for the mac nuts and scarfs them down. sometimes, she will crack the other nuts and throw them on the cage floor. she never touches the pellets, sometimes tosses some of the dry fruit onto the floor. i had success with pellets one night, sitting with her and her bowl on the couch handfeeding her pellets. also, i crumble pellets into her baby food when i give it to her and she usually eats it.
she goes in and out of her cage throughout the day...while i am doing chores, while cooking, if i need to run an errand. she also goes on her playstand too, but it's often hard to get her to stay there and play. she has gotten good at flying to me for a snuggle session

she has been getting better at flying to me in general, actually. it's really cool to see her coming at me, like a hawk with her feet out in front of her. she LOVES to land on my arm, and she is starting to make the connection that my arm out means to fly to it. i've noticed that she is trying to fly to me when she lands on the crown moulding, she just has a hard time landing. she seems to not be able to aim very well from a further distance yet. the better she gets at controlling her flying, the longer she can stay on her gym.
she's become excellent about going in and out of her cage, doesn't fight it at all anymore. she screams a little sometimes when she is in it, she seems to want me in view constantly. i call back to her when i am out of sight from her...sometimes this satiates her, sometimes not! she seems to like her toys ok, isn't too rough of a player though. she has a hard time with foot toys, she can't balance very well and drops them to the bottom of her cage.
a side note on cages....40x30 seemed so big when it was empty. but now i can't WAIT to get my 48x36 stainless (have to wait till jan or feb to be able to afford it, going with freedom cages). she LOVES to chew on bars, so this is definitely a temp cage.
i got her hanging gym in the mail last week, i need to decide where i want to hang it. i also have a large boing and swing for her that i need to figure out where to hang. maybe i will work on that tomorrow. i still need to get you guys photos of her set up and everything. she pretty much has a room dedicated to her, but it's still part of the family room.
at dinner time, i can usually get her to eat more baby food. all fresh/solid foods i give her are rejected. GET THIS! i made her a blend of sweet potato, corn, peas, carrots, and green beans. it was sorta a puree with small veggie bits in it. she ate it, but worked around the veggie bits and SPIT them all back out. TOO funny! she eats most of the harrison's i mash up into the baby food though, which is good.
she has been drinking water pretty well, she loves to drink out of a cup like mommy does. it's so weird how she could care less about what i am eating though! i've been giving her formula before bed each night, she loves it. i mix it pretty thick and let her eat it out of a bowl. she's not eating anywhere near what she probably should be, but she is doing pretty well over all. her poops look great, and she stopped losing weight. i give her 2 whole or partially cracked mac nuts after whatever dinner she manages to eat. sometimes she gets frustrated and drops the nut to the table, wanting me to open it for her.
she warmed up a bit more to the shower yesterday. she is a bit resistant to go in, but she had her wings spread out yesterday and seemed to enjoy it at least a little. i put her harness on afterwards and sat on the swing in back yard together to dry off in the warm sun. she loves being outside, but is shy about the sun. she hides her face in me when it comes out from behind a cloud. maybe it hurts her eyes a little? i am so happy she takes well to the harness. i really enjoy being able to go outside with her, cageless.
we are praising her a lot when she is quiet, trying not to spoil her with over cuddling but still making sure she gets plenty of attention, giving her a variety of foods to eat but not TOO big a choice...
i appreciate all the help and advice everyone has given me. you people are amazing
i promise more photos this weekend! i still need to get a flight video too!
