Default Ivy's Harness and a Little Scare

i took ivy out on her harness today, it is a cool breezy day in florida. all was fine until a neighbor was walking around in his yard and she got really spooked and started flying around. i felt so bad and got her inside quickly. she was fine once she was inside, but i felt so bad for her still. of course, now she is hanging out like nothing at all happened. what a trooper.

i am trying to take her out on the harness at least once a week so she stays good with it. however, she has become more resistant to me putting the loop around her neck. once that part is done though, she is fine. she is really good about letting me take it off lol. she will actually pull her wings out of the loops, it's cute!

What Camille said. I had the harness on Carmen every day for almost months and she was fine. I didnt put her in it in mabe a week and a half and when I tried, she almost took my arm off. She wont go anywhere near it now.

I do find a difference with macaws though. Jewel doesnt seem to are either way. She loves going outside, so mabe she realizes that when the harness goes on, she gets to go out.

oh i will definitely keep it up, i want ivy to always have the freedom of going outside uncaged. i might move it up to at least twice a week. maybe even more.

ivy is pretty easy going with it, she is a little shy about the wind though lol.
