How many of you have Hybrid Macaws? We have two, a Ruby "Lilly", and a Emerald "Maxie.

Tell us about yours and post pic's if you have them.

I have a 15 month old female Ruby macaw (greenwing daddy, scarlet momma) named Kalley. Her hatch date is the same as my birthday, April 30. She's a real sweetheart and has been a delight to have. She likes to hang out with my 14 month old male Blue and Gold macaw named Blue. They were raised together since they were babies so they are best buds. Here's a few pics for ya...

This is Kalley, the ruby...I think she was around six or seven weeks old at this point...she slept on her back at that time...should have got a pic of it but I didn't...she was so adorable...and still is...

The messmakers together as babies...

The ruby Kalley...couldn't keep her in that basket...she wanted to gobble up everybody's food...

A few pics of them outside on a summer day...

Just look at the blue color on the B&G...that's how he got nicknamed *Blue*...

The ruby out behind the house when she was around nine months old...she was in the middle of a big time molt and looked terrible...

This is a few pics of Kalley and Blue outside in the yard. These pics were taken around three months ago

Here's the Kalley girl by herself, such a sweetheart.

That's all for now, I need to take some updated pictures.

I have Sammy a Harlequin. I've had her about 3 yrs and this at least her 3rd home. I think she is actually off spring from Houdini, for every way I come up with to keep her in her cage she figures away around it. Her BF is Ha a GW,she is always telling him to "Come ere, gimme kiss".I believe in one of her past homes she was stick trained because she will call one of the other birds and say "step up,step up now,do you want me to get the stick?" No pics though,I haven't figured that angle out yet

This is probably as good a time as any to announce the addition of one of two of our newest family members. Please meet Kenobi (full name, Baby One Kenobi), a DNA'd male Camelot Macaw. He was born on Easter Sunday (4/8/07). I was not looking for a Camelot baby, but when we met, he actually chose me. Glommed onto me, and hasn't let go, yet. He's been here exactly one week, today. When his breeder saw how much Kenobi took to me, she offered him to me. As I say, I wasn't looking, but when Love comes knocking, one doesn't push it away! Z and I discussed it heavily before deciding to add 2 new family members--the other being one of the baby Scarlets that Deb is handraising. Don't know which one, yet (awaiting DNA results), but one is coming home as soon as it's weaned. It is our hope that, by adding two more instead of one, everyone will have a buddy. In this case, Kenobi and the as yet unnamed, unsexed baby Scarlet. Around here, pairs work better. Otherwise, singles get picked on!

So, without further ado, here's Kenobi :-):

Can I get back to this thread a little later?

In the mean time, PLEASE evryone post your pretties :-)

Hey, Cynthia :-). Just posted pix of beautiful Kenobi. You know how he is--the snuggliest baby on Earth. I do love him so!

Great pics, Cynthia I agree with you, babies should have parent time, better pets in the end.

I know what you mean on the yard work! I have been behind all summer long, thank goodness for the heat so the lawn dose not grow. Please post some pics of your beauties when you have time.
