You know, I look at it like this... life is short. It's so very, very short!!! And we all have animals in our lives that we have chosen to keep in captivity... birds in cages, fish in tanks, reptiles in terrariums... the least we can do for them, as we cannot give them the freedom that their wild cousins enjoy, is to provide them with as full and stimulated life as possible through environment, interaction, and diet. It gives me pleasure to indulge in a little something "bad" now and then... (like that donut this morning!!!!) and I see no reason to deprive Nigel of treats he loves. I truly believe variety is the key to health, and as long as we provide a good balance of more healthy than "bad", I think we're ok.

Just my opinion, by no means an expert!! But I feel the same for my dogs.... the vets can tell me all they want not to feed "people" food, but you can't convince me that a dry processed food can provide everything you need for health...

I agree with you Lori! I dont agree with a strict textbook lifestyle myself. Moderation is key.

I also wanted to say to you Lori, you jumped right in here to this board and have started enjoyable threads that we can all relate to. So thanks for sharing your stories!

well Peanut is always checking mugs, and I only drink coffee. I don't let him but he is quick. I think my coffee mugs must have birdie calling transmitters on it. Today again I brought him inside to supervise bird food breakfast making and he heads straight for my mug. I hid it in the microwave.
